rallycross revival series home results latest round points about entries classes rwd 1400cc 1800cc open modified test sessions requirements racing roll cage driver & vehicle test sessions equipment location accom home ** 24th june is cancelled due to insufficient entry numbers.** all entries will be carried over to 22-july (closing date 15-july). alternatively, refunds will be made immediately upon request. ——————————————————————— 100+ registered drivers … only 25 entries on the day. good people, we have arrived at a turning point. organizing a fully subscribed event of 100+ entries is actually quite easy, as the available funds allow us to have everything that we need to ensure the smooth running of the event, provide better facilities for drivers and spectators and to present drivers with prizes worth winning. trying to organize a racing event with a skeleton crew along with a financial short fall is something that we can no longer maintain. i believe everyone enjoyed their racing on sunday with the new grid starts and new track layout. i also know that we have the only racing … racing … for a very reasonable entry fee that i personally would have any interest in participating. there are plenty of timed competitions from rallying, sprints, hill climbs, targas, autotest but if you want to go racing in cars, you have a choice of an oval track with stockcars or autograss or a set of costs that i personally am not willing or able to pay for by racing at kirkistown or mondello. all due respect to those particular clubs and disciplines. over the past few years since the inception of the rxr we have shaken things up a number of times and almost always for the better. some new venues have been less suitable or less popular with drivers than expected, yet on the flip side we have been able to refresh the layout at bishopscourt a number of times in an effort to continue presenting drivers with new challenges. for those drivers currently on a sabbatical or building new cars; please realize that the time to come out and participate is now or there will simply be no series to return to. the 1400cc class is always well represented with 10+ entries. the rwd class also usually sits around 10+ but managed just 6 this past outing. what was formerly the 1600cc class was once our strongest but went into decline the past 18 months. extending the reg’s to include restricted 1800cc and provide a wider range of competitive cars has not been sufficient to halt the decline, with 1 car entered last sunday. the open class that often shows much promise recently saw just 3 entries. modified cars have been a scarcity since the start, but i do appreciate the extra commitment it takes to turn these cars out. there are several in the build process, but the months are rolling by. let’s not be complacent chaps. my interest in this series is as strong as ever, especially now that i am determined to participate at every outing. however, we can no longer justify taking a financial loss in doing so. therefore, we must shake things up once again … all future rxr events will be pre-booking only, secured with just a deposit. a minimum of 35 pre-booked entries 1 week prior will result in the event being cancelled. if this number is reached entries will remain open for a further 5 days but those participants will incur a 20% late fee. all participating drivers must be signed on no later than 30 mins before practice. briefing will be 15 mins before practice. any drivers not signed on or not at the briefing will not take part that day. no exceptions. to recognize the number of entries in each particular class (already the new points system addresses this to an extent) and the validity of that class, prizes will be awarded as follows: * 6+ cars … 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd place awards. * 4-5 cars … 1 st and 2 nd place awards. * 3 cars … 1 st place award. * 1-2 cars … merged with class above. * in the case of the modified cars where there is no class above them, in order to achieve 1 st place they must be first across the line ahead of the standard cars they share the grid with. we can do so much more with this setup allowing us not only to be better prepared, adequately staffed and equipped but to provide better services, facilities, prizes and incentives and to better promote the series thus enabling greater future success. i very much hope that as drivers you will support these new measures. those regular hardy folks who make it to every round; you may be few in numbers, but i commend each and every one of you for your efforts. i can’t ask more of you except to submit your entry in advance. to the rest of you who attend only occasionally or support us from afar;
